Taking advantage of the gullibility and greed of many people, the subjects pretended to organize events and mini games to give away valuable iPhones as gifts and then tricked people into paying taxes and fees to receive the rewards in order to appropriate their assets.
The tricks of the subjects are to post on Facebook groups, Zalo... with content like: on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment, the company thanks customers, giving away iPhone 13 Pro max and iPhone 14 Pro max phones to lucky and quick customers nationwide. When there are interested customers, the subjects use available scenarios, playing the role of customer care staff, shipping staff, tax officers... to text, contact, exchange and guide customers to do it.

After that, the subjects gave many reasons such as paying warehouse fees, warranty fees, personal taxes, etc., asking customers to transfer money to the bank accounts designated by the subjects to appropriate. If the customers did not transfer money, the subjects would threaten the customers for placing orders but not receiving them and threatening to report them to the police for prosecution. Many people fell into the trap and transferred money to the scammers.
To avoid unfortunate incidents like the above, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Hanoi City Police recommends that people be extremely careful and vigilant with money transfer tricks to receive goods, gifts, and winnings. When encountering cases with signs of fraud, it is necessary to report to the police to prevent and handle them according to the provisions of the law.
