Imperialism and hostile forces often use tricks such as distorting history, defaming the Communist Party, defaming socialism, propagating bourgeois ideology and beautifying and praising modern bourgeois society; economically besieging and isolating; at the same time, using aid to exert pressure, manipulate, and transform the socialist economy along the capitalist path. They especially take advantage of the tricks of freedom, democracy, human rights, ethnic and religious issues to incite, cause internal conflicts, attract and bribe degenerate, corrupt, dissatisfied, and dissenting elements to oppose socialism, build and plant anti-socialist forces from within socialist countries...

In recent years, taking advantage of the development of science and technology, especially the Internet and social networks, hostile forces have frequently used the trick of distortion and slander to lower Vietnam's reputation in the international arena. News sites such as RFA, VOA Vietnamese, and BBC Vietnamese have continuously published very one-sided, subjective, and baseless articles about the situation in Vietnam.

All areas, from economics, politics, ideology, culture, society, national defense, security, and foreign affairs, are propagandized by reactionary forces with a gray, dark perspective. In particular, they rely on individual incidents to attribute the nature of the regime. Every time an official is disciplined, they proclaim that the characteristics of the socialist state are embezzlement and corruption, causing people to lose their human rights.

Or in economic cases, they publish a series of "sideline" commentaries to distort that the socialist-oriented market economy is wrong, causing businesses to have no conditions to develop... When Vietnam ran for membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term, they focused on ridiculing,slander, distortionabout the human rights situation in Vietnam. From small incidents such as Can Thi Theu, Pham Thi Doan Trang, Nguyen Thuy Hanh, they assume that Vietnamese society is increasingly losing human rights...

Vietnamese practice destroys distorted arguments

All the grotesque distortions of hostile forces are aimed at discrediting Vietnam. From lies and fabrications, they paint a picture of a gloomy, pessimistic socialist regime; from there, they influence social classes and elements to cause a slow, silent “self-evolution”, rotting the socialist regime from within, leading to “self-transformation”, and collapsing the socialist regime.

However, their sinister plots have been refuted by reality in Vietnam. Vietnam's image and reputation have been enhanced in the international arena. International friends once knew Vietnam as a peace-loving nation, but also an indomitable nation in the fight for independence. Now, Vietnam is also recognized as a country with many achievements in the renovation process, especially strong socio-economic development, becoming a destination for investors and a trade partner of many countries in the world.

Vietnam's prestige was affirmed through the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on June 7, 2022. Countries unanimously elected Vietnam to become one of the Vice Presidents of the 77th United Nations General Assembly representing the Asia-Pacific region. Vietnam will hold this position for 1 year from September 13, 2022.

Most recently, on October 11, 2022, Vietnam was elected as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term. This is the second time Vietnam has been elected as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council. This result demonstrates Vietnam's active participation in the activities of the United Nations Human Rights Council, and Vietnam's strong commitments and efforts to promote and protect human rights have been recognized, trusted and highly appreciated by the international community.

Be on high alert for new tricks

Nowadays, knowing that it is undeniable the good things that the socialist regime in Vietnam is bringing, reactionary websites have changed direction, creating sections such as "secret palace stories", "hidden corners of Vietnam", "unpublished documents", "side stories"... to attract readers.

The content of these articles was fabricated by them about the background and family of high-ranking leaders in order to discredit and thereby defame the political regime in Vietnam, causing readers to gradually lose faith in the Party's leadership. More dangerously, they also cut and pasted images and converted the articles into video clips to post widely on Youtube, Facebook Watch, Tiktok, Dailymotion... Many toxic clips with artificial intelligence (AI) voices have infiltrated Facebook groups to influence the psychology of viewers, especially the young. This is a rather sophisticated trick, requiring every citizen to be vigilant and for functional units to promptly prevent it.
