Beware of the trick of self-branding to oppose the regime

Titles are no joke

The trick of self-titled titles is not new. However, recently when the situationCovid-19 epidemicIn the complicated developments in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces, it is used a lot. On the Internet, hostile and reactionary forces have released many articles with titles to cause suspicion, divide regions, and crack the great solidarity of our people. In the face of the sophisticated and unpredictable adjustments of hostile and reactionary forces when using this trick, if we are not alert, the negative consequences it leaves behind will be very dangerous.

A recent article on the Viet Tan terrorist organization’s website can be considered a typical example of this trick. Under the title: “The heart of a Northern doctor: “Why do you like Southerners?” this article is written in a narrative style about the life of a “doctor” named “Nhan Le”. According to the article, “Doctor Nhan Le” was born, raised, and educated in the North “…but now he says that we Northerners have ruined everything, and then he likes the South, and even likes the pre-1975 Southern regime…”. Then again, “Doctor Nhan Le” created his own opinion that “Nhan Le has “bitten the hand that feeds him”… in general, he has betrayed the place that raised him, so how does Nhan Le respond?”.

The entire content of the response of “Doctor Nhan Le” is nothing more than blackening reality, slandering the socialist regime, distorting the guidelines and policies of the Party and State of Vietnam; praising the “Republic of Vietnam” regime; praising the Southern people for “living with humanity…” and claiming that the Southern people have those good qualities because they live under the “Republic of Vietnam” regime; slandering the Northern people and implying that Saigon now “is no longer the same as before…” because the Northern people have made it “desolate”; “made it lose its humanity…”. The hidden thing behind the seemingly convincing article of “Doctor Nhan Le” is nothing other than inciting regional discrimination and division.

Public opinion is not easily fooled.

There is no information, no specific address of the person who calls himself “Doctor Nhan Le” to verify the authenticity of the story. From the place of work to the work process and the achievements in his career… all of this information is a round zero… However, this person who calls himself “Doctor Nhan Le” recounts the story of his birth, growth, and becoming a doctor in great detail and does not forget to interweave and insert in it incorrect viewpoints to criticize the policies of the Party and the State of Vietnam; to speak ill of the regime, to incite regional discrimination, and to divide the great solidarity of our people. Most of the words used in this article express a spiteful, resentful attitude and are inappropriate, not in line with the way of thinking of a person who bears the title of doctor.

Another point worth noting is that this article was posted on pages with ill will towards the Vietnamese State in 2018. However, on August 8, 2021, amid the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces, this article was posted on the Facebook page of the terrorist organization Viet Tan. This action is not beyond the purpose of "dividing the great national unity bloc" by evoking the "regional mentality" - a trick that they have used many times to sabotage Vietnam.

Theydistort, fabricatebelieve that there is a "political conspiracy" behind the sending of forces from the North to support Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces in preventing and fighting the pandemic. However, even the most paranoid minds cannot imagine what the "political conspiracy" behind the reason for helping Ho Chi Minh City and the southern localities prevent and fight the Covid-19 pandemic is. On the contrary, there is only the vivid truth that all Vietnamese people know and see, which is that the entire nation is standing shoulder to shoulder every day, every hour, joining hands, determined to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, so that a peaceful life for the people can soon return and not only Ho Chi Minh City but also the whole country can continue to restore production, stabilize and develop the socio-economy, care for people's lives, and protect people's health.

Don't be vague or delusional.

Hostile, reactionary, and opportunistic political forces have the illusion that recalling the past and “regional separatism” will incite discriminatory thoughts, discrimination, and division between the North and the South... But they are so wrong. The lasting unity of Vietnam,spirit of solidarityof the Vietnamese people that no force can separate.

For this S-shaped strip of land to have peace, independence and unity as it is today, the entire Vietnamese people had to go through many long and arduous struggles and sacrifices against foreign invasion. To have a prosperous and happy life like today, the Vietnamese people had to shed so much sweat, blood and tears. More than anyone else, the Vietnamese people deeply understand and appreciate the value of peace, independence, freedom; the value of solidarity and unity.

Solidarity and unity are the source of collective strength and national strength to defeat foreign invaders. That lesson still holds true in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland, especially in the current fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. No one in this nation is foolish enough to want to return to the painful past, the scene of a lost country, broken homes, and divided mountains and rivers. Cherishing the achievements gained, the Party, State and people of Vietnam always stand shoulder to shoulder, unite and wholeheartedly preserve that peace, independence, freedom and unity with all their spirit and strength.

Deliberately evoking the “regional mentality” to divide and destroy the great solidarity of the Vietnamese people is a sinister plot of hostile and reactionary forces. However, no matter how sophisticated and unpredictable, such plots and tricks cannot deceive the high vigilance, thorough understanding and great responsibility of our entire Party, people and army./.
