Police (113) quickly apprehended two suspects involved in a robbery.

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 24th, the 113 Police force of the Administrative Management and Social Order Police Department of Nghe An Province arrested two robbery suspects who were demanding ransom from their victim right in the center of Vinh City.

The two suspects and the seized evidence are at the 113 police station.

At midnight on October 23, 2014, the Nghe An 113 Police Center received a report that a student had been robbed by two unknown individuals who stole a handbag containing a mobile phone, some cash, and personal documents. On the morning of October 24, the victim reported to the 113 Police Center that when she contacted her phone number, one of the suspects demanded a ransom of 1,000,000 VND to get her phone and documents back. Immediately, the Head of the Administrative Management and Social Order Police Department of Nghe An Province directed the 113 Police to deploy forces to ambush and apprehend one suspect red-handed while exchanging the stolen goods for 1,000,000 VND on Phung Khac Khoan Street, Vinh City. The other suspect escaped and was taken to the 113 Police Center headquarters for questioning.

Initially, the police identified the suspect as Phan Van Thanh, born in 1993, residing in Hamlet 4, Thai Son Commune, Do Luong District, and summoned Nguyen Van Thanh, born in 1994, residing in Hamlet 4, Tru Son Commune, Do Luong District. At the police station, the two suspects confessed that at around 11 PM on October 23rd, while traveling on Le Viet Thuat Street in Vinh City towards Cua Hoi, they saw two women riding bicycles in the same direction with a black handbag in the basket. They overtook them, snatched the handbag, and fled. They were later apprehended by the 113 police force while attempting to collect the ransom money. The seized items included a motorbike with license plate 37C1-044.47 and a handbag containing a mobile phone, 270,000 VND in cash, and some personal documents.

Through sharp investigative techniques and a swift response, the 113 Police Unit of Nghe An Province successfully apprehended two robbery suspects, restoring public confidence. On the same day, the 113 Police Unit returned the stolen property to the victim. The suspects and the evidence have been handed over to the Vinh City Police for further investigation.
