British police identify suspect in poisoning of former Russian spy
British investigators say the suspects in the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and his son are hiding in Russia.

The investigation into the assassination of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia appears to have made a major breakthrough, with British police claiming to have identified the suspects behind the poisoning plot. British intelligence agencies believe the suspects are hiding in Russia,Telegraphyesterday news
The identity of the suspect, as well as the intelligence gathered by British police, have not yet been released, but they said one of the clues about the suspect was gathered from the manifest for the flight leaving Britain after the assassination.
Former Colonel Skripal and his son were found unconscious in a shopping mall in Salisbury on March 4. Britain accused Russia of using the nerve agent Novichok to attack the two, but Russia denied it. The investigation is expected to last several months, but Britain remains convinced Russia was behind the poisoning.
The poisoning sparked diplomatic tensions between Russia and the West. 28 countries expelled Russian diplomats in support of Britain, while Moscow responded by expelling diplomats from 24 Western countries.
