Police arrest protesters who stormed the US Capitol building
Protesters against the war in Gaza stormed the US Capitol building, some of whom were arrested, Capitol Police reported on social media X.
“Among those arrested were three people accused of assaulting police officers during arrest,” the post said.
Police said arrests in the lobby of the House office building next to the Capitol continued.

“We warned the protesters to stop their actions immediately, and only when they did not comply did we begin arresting them,” they noted.
Law enforcement officers reminded that protests inside the capitol buildings are prohibited.
Police later forced the protesters out of the parliament building. As Sputnik correspondents reported, the protests continued on the streets.
Hundreds of people were reported to have gathered for a pro-Palestinian rally near the Capitol. As Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said shortly before, police had set up barricades in front of the planned rally and announced that members of Congress would be targeted.
The activists, among other demands, demanded an end to hostilities and an end to US military aid to Israel. The protest was initiated by the organization "Jewish Voice for Peace". Dozens of Jews joined them.
