Police raid karaoke bar, detain 40 partygoers
In four rooms at the largest karaoke bar in the port city, authorities suspect there are dozens of people using drugs.
On the night of March 18 and early morning of March 19, nearly 50 officers and soldiers of Le Chan District Police (Hai Phong) while conducting an administrative inspection of Hong Ngoc bar located in the area recorded that on the 5th and 6th floors there were four rooms with dozens of young people gathering with signs of drug use.
Authorities announced the seizure of many suspected ecstasy and crystal meth exhibits. 40 people involved were detained.
Le Chan District Police are testing and classifying people who react to drugs for further investigation.
Hong Ngoc Bar used to be called Ruby Karaoke. In 2012, this establishment with modern sound equipment and luxurious interior became the destination of many partygoers. TodayOn June 29, 2016, the Ministry of Public Security detained nearly 300 people in a raid and seized a large amount of synthetic drugs.
