From March 1, 2025, the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department has proactively deployed local teams to continue ensuring traffic order and safety on routes previously under the responsibility of the District Police.

This is to maintain stable traffic order and safety, avoid disruptions, and not leave the area vacant.

Immediately after the Traffic Police Team (Vinh City Police) was dissolved, a part of the team was transferred to the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police. With the name of Vinh City Traffic Police Team, the officers and soldiers quickly stabilized the organization and continued to undertake the task of patrolling, controlling, ensuring traffic order and safety throughout the area, while simultaneously regulating traffic effectively and continuously.

Mr. Tran Huu Trung, residing in Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, shared: "We know that since March 1, the police organization at district, town and city levels, including the Traffic Police Team of Vinh City Police, has been dissolved. However, when participating in traffic, we still see the traffic police force maintaining traffic regulation on the roads. Specifically, at the intersection between Le Loi and Ly Thuong Kiet streets, where there is no traffic light system, if there is no traffic police force to regulate, traffic will easily be congested. But thanks to the regular presence of the traffic police force here, the traffic situation is always smooth, especially in the early morning and late afternoon."

In addition to traffic regulation, the Vinh City Traffic Police Department also pays special attention to handling violations, which are the main causes of traffic accidents, especially during the transition period, when people can be subjective. Specifically: Driving after drinking alcohol, exceeding the prescribed speed limit, not obeying traffic lights, driving in the wrong lane, going in the wrong direction, as well as weaving, swerving, etc.

The Vinh City Traffic Police Department also regularly checks alcohol levels on the roads. Typically, on the evening of March 14, at the alcohol level checkpoint on Tran Hung Dao Street, after nearly two hours of work, the task force discovered two violations.

One of them is Mr. NBS, a construction worker living in Dong Vinh ward, with an alcohol concentration of 0.26 mg/liter of breath. Mr. S. shared: "This afternoon, the group of workers left early, the homeowner invited me to drink, I only drank 3 cups, unexpectedly exceeding the permitted threshold. Partly because I thought the way home was near, partly because I was subjective, thinking that after the Vinh City Police Department was dissolved, the Traffic Police force had not yet set up a checkpoint to check alcohol concentration. I did not expect to be punished. With a fine of 7 million VND, it is considered that I lost a month's salary, not to mention having 10 points deducted from my driver's license."

Similarly, after a portion of the force was transferred to the Traffic Police Department, officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Teams of the District and Town Police continued to be assigned to local teams under the Traffic Police teams and stations on national highways. Immediately after stabilizing the organization, officers and soldiers continued to undertake the same tasks as before, ensuring the management of traffic order and safety in the area.

Captain Vo Duc Hoang, working at the Thanh Chuong area team of the Road Traffic Police Team No. 5, said: "Although the district-level police no longer exist, the area is not abandoned. Patrols and controls by the traffic police force are still maintained continuously. In particular, for alcohol concentration violations, we will focus on handling them regularly, especially at noon, evening, on holidays and on routes with high traffic density."

According to statistics, from March 1 to now, the provincial traffic police force has recorded 3,296 violations; issued decisions to punish 2,190 cases, and collected 4.2 billion VND in fines to the state budget.

Mr. Ngo Quoc Cuong, a resident of Quy Hop district, suggested that the traffic police force should regularly publicize information on the results of patrols, controls and handling of violations across the province, especially on key routes and areas. This will help prevent people from being complacent, when they think that traffic patrols and controls may be lax due to changes in the organization of district-level police.

Flexible arrangement of working groups

In fact, after the reorganization of the apparatus, from March 1, there will no longer be district-level police, which means that the number of personnel in the Traffic Police Teams of the district, city and town police will be transferred to communes, towns and functional departments of the provincial police, including the Traffic Police Department.

Previously, the task of ensuring traffic order and safety in 20 districts, cities and towns was undertaken by the Traffic Police Teams of the local police, while the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) was only in charge of national highways. However, after reorganizing the apparatus and no longer having district-level police, the Traffic Police Department not only continued to ensure traffic order and safety on national highways and areas previously assigned, but also took on the additional task of ensuring traffic safety in districts, cities and towns, in order to maintain stability and continuity in this work.

Faced with the above situation, the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) has implemented flexible and practical solutions to ensure that traffic safety is not interrupted. Specifically, the Traffic Police Department has assigned officers to participate in local teams, working directly at the grassroots level, both performing management functions and guiding and coordinating with the Commune Police in preventing traffic jams and handling violations.

In addition, the work of propaganda and raising awareness of traffic law compliance continues to be promoted by the Traffic Police Department in close coordination with local authorities and organizations.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) said: Currently, the work of ensuring traffic safety in districts, cities and towns is undertaken by the Traffic Police Department. Accordingly, the arrangement of local teams helps the functional forces to be present in a timely manner, grasp the traffic situation and handle situations right at the grassroots level.

With the goal of maintaining traffic order and safety, in the coming time, the Traffic Police force will continue to deploy and strengthen patrols and controls, especially on key routes and areas. Violations will be handled seriously, especially for violations related to alcohol concentration when driving - one of the direct causes of traffic accidents. With the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions", the Traffic Police force is determined to contribute to building and forming a "civilized" and "safe" traffic culture.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong also emphasized that, despite the change in management decentralization, each traffic participant needs to raise awareness and strictly comply with regulations, because the work of ensuring traffic order and safety of the traffic police force is always maintained. Compliance with traffic laws not only helps protect oneself but also contributes to the overall safety of the community.
