(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 17th, the provincial fire prevention and control police force, in coordination with agencies and units in the area, organized a fire fighting and rescue drill at HAIVINA Kim Lien Company (Nam Giang Industrial Park - Nam Dan).
 |
| Leaders of relevant units, agencies, and Nam Dan district supervised the exercise. |
Attending the drill were comrades Le Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of the Provincial Fire and Rescue Police, Dinh Van Que - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dan district, leaders of Fire and Rescue Police Station No. 1, Commander of Brigade 414, Chemical Battalion 38 (Military Region 4) and other units and functional agencies.
This exercise aims to implement Prime Minister's Directive No. 967/CD-TTg dated June 20, 2014, and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province's Directive No. 26/CD-UBND dated September 12, 2014, on strengthening fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue work in the area.

The hypothetical scenario involves a fire originating in the raw materials warehouse on the first floor (factory A of the company). The cause is an electrical short circuit. Nearly 1,000 people are affected, leading to panic and crowding as people try to escape, causing congestion at the emergency exits. Many workers remain trapped and unable to get out. The fire produces a large amount of smoke and toxic gases, making evacuation, rescue, and firefighting efforts difficult and limiting visibility.
In response to the situation, the workers of Workshop A at the Haivina factory immediately cut off the power and extinguished the fire using 10 on-site fire extinguishers, reporting to the company's leadership. The factory's fire fighting team deployed two A-type nozzles to spray water onto the fire and two B-type nozzles for cooling. Within minutes of the fire breaking out, professional firefighting forces (Department 1 - Provincial Fire and Rescue Police, Brigade 414, Battalion 38, and other units and agencies of Nam Dan district) arrived promptly, rapidly deploying equipment to rescue and extinguish the fire.
