Chuong My district police have investigated the case of Mr. Hoang Tien Vin being assaulted on the street.

Speaking to the press on the evening of January 30, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tri Dung - Chief of Police of Chuong My District (Hanoi City) said that he had learned initial information about the incident in which Mr. Hoang Tien Vin, a war invalid, was assaulted by a group of people on the afternoon of the 28th of the Lunar New Year (January 25).

Lieutenant Colonel Dung said that according to initial information, Mr. Vin was driving a tricycle and collided with a car, causing scratches on the paint. Mr. Vin drove away, so some people chased after him.

The Chief of Chuong My District Police said he was working with both sides and recording the injury assessment results from Mr. Vin to find a solution.

Previously, Dan Viet reported that Mr. Hoang Tien Vin (born in 1955, Chuong My district, Hanoi) was driving a three-wheeled vehicle on the road when he was allegedly involved in a traffic collision and was chased and assaulted by a group of young men. After the incident, Mr. Vin was taken to Military Hospital 103 for treatment by his family.

It is known that Mr. Vin joined the army in 1972 and in May 1974, he was injured in a battle in Quang Nam. He is currently receiving a 2/4 class disabled status, with a 61% disability rate and one leg amputated above the knee, requiring the use of a prosthetic leg.

Mr. Vin affirmed that even though he was at fault for the traffic collision, the young men chasing him had no right to beat people and act like thugs, so he requested that the authorities handle the matter properly.

Mr. Vin's family said they will now focus on treating Mr. Vin, and then write a petition to request the authorities to resolve and handle the case.
