Update world and regional situation for cadres and party members of Provincial Agencies

The conference listened to Dr. Tran Viet Thai - Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, give an overview of the world and regional political and economic situation; and foreign affairs activities of our Party and State.

In recent years, the world's security and political situation has undergone many complex and unpredictable changes, with multi-dimensional and multi-level impacts on the security and development of all countries, including Vietnam. Major countries have adjusted their policies flexibly, promoted the implementation of strategic goals on a regional and global scale, creating fierce competition and friction in politics, military, economy as well as complexities in gathering forces.

The Asia-Pacific region is increasingly valued by countries, but this is also the region where many of the world's major conflicts converge, where fundamental interests intersect as well as comprehensive strategic competition between major countries.

Territorial, sea and island sovereignty disputes are extremely complicated; they pose many potential threats to peace and stability in the region, challenge the sovereignty and sovereign rights of countries; and create trade competition and political instability in the region.

Faced with that situation, the Party and State have set out the need to develop and implement policies to improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs activities, proactively integrate internationally, maintain a peaceful and stable environment and create favorable conditions for national development.

Through the content of the thematic report, cadres and party members of the Provincial Agencies Bloc are equipped with knowledge, updated with current information on the world and regional situation; grasp the viewpoints, guidelines and foreign policies of the Party and State, as well as improving the effectiveness of our country's foreign affairs activities in the new situation.

On that basis, cadres and party members apply it to their learning, working and research processes, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of performing tasks and politics at agencies and units as well as doing a good job of propaganda and orienting public opinion information.
