'Twin killers' became famous because of acid, and their lives were also ruined because of acid

We would like to mention two female monsters who were the most formidable "knife and hammer" of Phuc "bo". The underworld at that time called them "the twin killers".

Those were the Mai - Thu sisters who once caused trouble, making many gangsters in Hanoi afraid and wary. But in the end, they also had to accept a tragic end like petty gangsters, being splashed with acid, leaving them physically and mentally disabled...

Specializing in "payment" with acid

Although she is Phuc "boyfriend's" junior, the boss herself has to respect Mai-Thu sisters somewhat. Because they are very temperamental.

Normally, they can listen to their seniors. But if something is not to their liking, or if they are in a "spirited" state, they will "blow up", and at best, they will storm away, or at worst, they will glare and argue like crazy.

It must also be said that in terms of bravery and fame in the underworld, the Mai-Thu sisters are not much inferior to the boss, so the boss cannot be as harsh as the other juniors.

Therefore, for the Mai-Thu sisters, the boss is relatively lenient, choosing the method of "sweet talk that penetrates to the bone".

The "twin killers" were one year apart in age, born around 1961, 1962, in Mai Dong village (now Hoang Mai district, Hanoi). Their family had a traditional profession of butchering buffalo and cows. With their education interrupted, the sisters Nguyen Thi Mai and Nguyen Thi Thu soon became gangsters.

Some gangsters who knew them back then commented that when they were young, they were not ugly at all, their looks were average... But perhaps because they had to show off to learn to be rebellious, their manly qualities gradually seeped into them.

By the time they were eighteen or twenty, if one did not know, one would not be able to distinguish their genders. Both sisters wore blue camisoles, sandals, and conical hats. The only trace of femininity remained in their shoulder-length hair.

But that little bit of "feminine weakness" would also fly away immediately if they saw them swearing like singing and fighting no less than any "manly men". In the whole area from Mai Dong, Thanh Nhan to Thanh Luong, O Dong Mac, from the young gangsters to the big shots, everyone was afraid of the recklessness of the Mai-Thu sisters.

Like any other gangster, they can fight with fists, bricks, stones or knives, and they are superior to their "colleagues" when it comes to daring to use a terrible weapon: acid.

The incident of confronting a big-time gangster at Tho Lao slope (Lo Duc street, Hanoi) in 1983 made the underworld in this area shiver. The reason was because a disciple of the Mai-Thu sisters caused trouble in this area and was "taught" quite a harsh lesson by the gangster.

Knowing the story, without bothering to find out who was right and who was wrong, the Mai-Thu sisters drove to their rival's gathering place and threw a bucket of acid straight into the crowd. Luckily for the gangster and his followers that day, the Mai-Thu sisters had bought poor quality acid. Apart from a few people with minor burns, most of them were fine. But this settlement caused the Mai-Thu sisters to get into trouble.

The rival gang quickly sent an apology message, agreeing to pay the hospital fees for the Mai-Thu sisters' disciple. From then on, the gangsters in the area were wary and most chose to "avoid" if they had conflicts with their interests. But even though they caused a lot of trouble, the Mai-Thu sisters were still just petty gangsters. They only became truly famous and had a reputation in the Hanoi underworld when they met their senior Phuc "lover".

Become a "twin"

It was 1990, the Mai-Thu sisters accepted a job of hired assassins and nearly cut off the victim's thumb. Unfortunately for the sisters, the victim was the younger brother of the lover of a notorious gangster on Hang Cot Street (Hanoi) at that time. Hearing his lover crying and telling him, the gangster, after identifying the perpetrators as the Mai-Thu sisters, flew into a rage.

"River water does not interfere with well water", if you do, you have to fight to the end", this gangster ordered his underlings to prepare "hot goods" to take out the Mai-Thu sisters. If a war happens, it is not difficult to predict the outcome. The Mai-Thu sisters are reckless but in terms of potential, they cannot be compared to the opposing gang. Thus, they will certainly have to accept a disastrous outcome if it is not for the intervention of Phuc "boyfriend".

Later, some witnesses said that she had known the Mai-Thu sisters for a long time, and that they had similar characteristics to her, so the boss stepped in to help. Another reason was that at this time, Phuc "the lover" was in the "recruiting talented people" phase to attract forces. And to gain the gratitude of this "twin killer" couple, it was a relatively cheap price.

The boss met with the gangster to negotiate, accepted Mai-Thu sisters as her underlings, accepted to apologize and pay compensation. Phuc "lover" was quite famous at that time, so the case was resolved quickly. As expected, when they knew who their "protector" was, Mai-Thu sisters came to express their gratitude and became the boss's "twin killers" from then on.

A few years later, when the Phung Hung temporary market was built, the traders of that time could not forget the appearance of these two female monsters. Almost identical in appearance, always riding large motorbikes and dressing like men, the Mai-Thu sisters became the "evil spirits" of the temporary market.

They have the brutality of male gangsters, but are no less vengeful and talkative than women. If any shop owner in the market disobeys their wishes, the Mai-Thu sisters are not only ready to use force but also curse them for a long time afterwards.

The grudge was so deep that the shop owners had to come and beg Phuc Bo, and only when the boss spoke did the Mai - Thu sisters let the owner go.

Since then, whenever it was the sisters' turn to collect money, the people in the market obeyed obediently, not daring to make any mistakes. But those were just jobs that any petty gangster could do. The deal that made the gangsters "wide-eyed and flat" was the "returning of the car" after half a year.

But then they also had to accept a tragic end like the petty gangsters, when someone threw acid on them, leaving them physically and mentally disabled...
