According to Chongqing Times, the boy, named Cao Yinpeng, has set a goal of gaining 10kg in just 2 months to reach the 45kg weight limit, the minimum requirement for a bone marrow donor.

On the website of the Chinese bone marrow donation program, it is stated that bone marrow donors must be between the ages of 18 and 45, with exceptions made when a younger donor is needed to save a family member.

In Yinpeng's case, he was diagnosed with leukemia in January this year, and a suitable donor could not be found in time for a bone marrow transplant.

The boy Yinpeng said that he wanted to save his father, to give his father a life just like his father had given birth to him.

The plan includes an hour of brisk walking every evening, and Yinpeng should avoid strenuous exercise.

Yinpeng started planning in June and prepared for surgery in early July.

Yingpeng's father is now recovering well after a successful surgery. And Yingpeng has also learned to cook to take better care of her father.
