Wedding singing boy continues to impress
Ho Van Cuong - a poor boy from Tien Giang - brought strong emotions to the audience during the live show of Vietnam Idol Kids.
The second live show of the program "Vietnam Idol Kids" took place on the evening of May 29 in Ho Chi Minh City. This week, the competition was for seven male contestants, including: Ho Van Cuong, Gia Khiem, Thien Phuc, Jayden, Thien Tung, Duc Thanh and Bao Khuong.
In the seven performances, contestant Ho Van Cuong had a unique style because he has been loyal to the lyrical and folk music genre since the beginning of the competition. When he appeared on stage, the audience continuously cheered him on.
Compared to previous rounds, Ho Van Cuong has completely "transformed" in style. He is less shy and more confident, his facial expression and eyes are more cheerful when performing the song "Ve mien Tay" (author To Thanh Tung). The 13-year-old contestant sang clearly and emotionally, leading the audience back to the cool river region with green trees and alluvium. The audience in the auditorium was excited with each word of the boy's song, many people shouted his name. Even after Cuong finished singing, the cheers and encouragement did not stop.

The three judges of the show, singers Toc Tien, Van Mai Huong and Isaac, were completely captivated by Ho Van Cuong's successful performance. Toc Tien shared: "Before tonight, you were the contestant I was most worried about because you had never been on a big stage before. I was afraid you wouldn't be able to control the stage. But you did better than expected. You performed confidently, your voice was beyond dispute, your high notes were bright, clear, strong, and smooth, and your low notes were solid. The audience's applause showed their love for you."
Singer Van Mai Huong expressed: "I don't know why, but even though you sing a happy song, I can still feel the sadness in it. When you sing, I close my eyes to feel it. You are an unpolished gem. I believe that after this program, in a few years, you will be a star."
The change in Ho Van Cuong's style makes his fans happy. After a while living in a shared house with his friends to prepare for the competition, the boy from Tien Giang has become more confident. Cuong confided that his friends often tease him for being weak and quiet, but in real life he likes to joke around and is optimistic. The live show night was the first time Ho Van Cuong wore shoes on stage. In the past, he always liked to go barefoot or wear sandals. The organizers had to persuade him for a long time before he agreed to wear shoes even though he did not feel comfortable.
Receiving many compliments, Ho Van Cuong achieved 30% of the judges' score and 54.2% of the audience's text messages to continue to the next round of the competition.
Besides Ho Van Cuong, the remaining six contestants had great performances to show their passion for music. The children performed songs of their own choosing. After attending vocal training classes, reading and practicing with music director Hoai An and vocal instructor Tu Uyen, the seven children also received time to practice choreography from dancer Lam Vinh Hai.

Gia Khiem, a boy from Hanoi, sang the song "Tra lai cho em" (Duong Cam) with a dignified manner. Singer Van Mai Huong commented: "This is a difficult song, requiring intense emotions. Gia Khiem sang well, full of emotions, not out of place." And Toc Tien expressed: "He has a very adult way of enunciating the lyrics, knows how to emphasize, sing loudly, and softly. He is a talented and gifted boy." This contestant received quite high votes from the audience (42.5%) to continue in the competition.
12-year-old Jayden chose to sing the song Let it be and moved the audience. Looking at the image of the boy holding a guitar and singing, judge Van Mai Huong was moved and said: "Not only does he sing well, he also has a beautiful soul, singing like a great artist. He is also a hard-working boy, can sing anytime, anywhere, practice singing in Vietnamese, practice speaking Vietnamese." Jayden was in the top 5 contestants chosen by the judges and audience to go to the next round.
The two remaining contestants chosen to continue with the program are: Duc Thanh and Thien Tung. The two boys Thien Phuc and Bao Khuong had to say goodbye to the game.
