According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tai - Executive Director at Nghi Thiet Grinding Station and Seaport, the damage is up to over 10 billion VND. The cost can be reimbursed by construction insurance. But the issue that this unit is most concerned about is that the progress of putting the project into use has been delayed by 2 months. Photo: Tai Nguyen |

Some other items were also urgently repaired. However, the 70,000-ton ship scheduled to dock at the port to receive cargo at the end of July 2017 has been postponed. Photo: Nguyen Nguyen |
Nghi Thiet sea area has a natural depth of 9m. The construction of a seaport here will serve ships over 70,000 tons to load and unload goods. After completing phase 1, the channel will be dredged, and ships over 100,000 tons can dock at the port. Initially, the wharf will serve the export of cement and clinker of Song Lam Cement Factory. In the long term, the port will be upgraded to an international port for the entire North Central region. Nghi Thiet Deepwater Port Project is considered an important project that not only has a significant meaning in creating a "push" for the development of Nghe An province and the North Central provinces but also promotes economic exchange with the Northeast regions of Thailand and Central Laos. |
