Quy Hop Cow Raising Youth Club

(Baonghean.vn) - The initial steps have brought about economic efficiency, exploited the existing potential of the locality for livestock breeding and contributed to solving employment for youth union members. Those are the positive signals that the Quy Hop Youth Cow Breeding Club has brought.

In early October 2014, the Quy Hop District Policy Bank decided to lend Chau Cuong Commune Youth Union (Quy Hop District) 600 million VND to buy breeding cows from young people.

Immediately after that, Chau Cuong commune delegation established a cattle breeding club with 20 members, organized training courses on cattle breeding techniques, barn building and grass planting for cattle.

Chau Cuong commune delegation also proactively bought 4 sao of elephant grass seeds for 2 million VND to divide among the households that benefited from the project to plant.

Currently, in Chau Cuong, a new type of livestock farming has begun to be formed with management and proactive grass feed sources for cows, no longer free-range as before.

People here also began to apply scientific advances in animal husbandry, fermenting green food, silaging straw with urea, and supplementing concentrated feed in winter and when cows were newly pregnant.

The herd of cows is developing very well, growing fast, especially because of the selection of good cow breeds, so they are much larger than local cows. The implementation of the cow breeding project promises to help Quy Hop youth union members improve their lives and get rich right on their homeland.
