After having a new "captain", excitement is returning to the training session of Ho Chi Minh City Club on the afternoon of October 3. Welcoming new coach Vu Tien Thanh, the whole team aims to successfully stay in the league despite being at the bottom of the table after 17 rounds. To motivate the players to perform better in the remaining 8 rounds, the Board of DirectorsHo Chi Minh City Clubalso offered "huge" rewards to the whole team.

In a meeting with the entire team on October 3, the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City Club decided to reward 1 billion VND for a win, 500 million VND for a draw, and an additional 3 billion VND in bonus if the entire team successfully stays in the league.

Previously, the winning bonus of Ho Chi Minh City Club was set at only about 500 million VND/match from the beginning of the season. With the new bonus, double the normal, Coach Vu Tien Thanh's team will receive 11 billion VND if they win all 8 remaining rounds of V-League 2022 - an amount nearly 4 times higher than the bonus for the champion team of the tournament.

However, this is an impossible task for Ho Chi Minh City Club because in the near future, coach Vu Tien Thanh and his team will have to face off against strong opponents in the V-League, including: Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Becamex Binh Duong, Hanoi, Song Lam Nghe An, Dong A Thanh Hoa, SHB Da Nang, Viettel and TopenLand Binh Dinh.

The new coach of Ho Chi Minh City Club said: "The players' spirit has dropped after the recent loss. In today's training session, everything has stabilized, the players are gradually regaining their confidence. The difficulty of Ho Chi Minh City Club in recent times is losing direction in their expertise, meaning they do not have a clear identity or tactics. We will help the players improve and overcome this weakness."

Indonesian football at risk of receiving heavy punishment from FIFA

CNN Indonesia commented that if FIFA's penalty is issued, PSSI will lose the right to host the U20 World Cup.

On the evening of October 1, the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Indonesia witnessed a horrifying scene. After the home team lost 2-3, Arema fans were dissatisfied and rushed onto the field to threaten captain Ahmad Alfarizi and defender Sergio Silva.

The growing unrest prompted security forces to use tear gas. However, this only made things worse as panicked crowds began to stampede to escape the stadium.

As a result, at least 125 people were killed and hundreds more injured in the chaos that forced the Indonesian football championship to be postponed indefinitely.

Indonesian football is at risk of receiving heavy punishment from FIFA after the recent riots.

Sharing with the media recently, Secretary General of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI), Mr. Yunus Nusi, is worried about the risk of receiving heavy punishment from FIFA.

"Hopefully PSSI will not receive any sanctions from FIFA due to the Kanjuruhan tragedy that claimed the lives of hundreds of Arema FC, Aremania supporters and police officers," said PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi.

CNN Indonesia commented: "If the penalty from FIFA is issued, PSSI will lose the right to host the U20 World Cup. This tournament is scheduled to take place from May to June 2023."

Chelsea reach agreement to sign Nkunku

The London club have agreed to pay RB Leipzig €60m (£52.7m) to release Christopher Nkunku from his contract in next summer's transfer window.

Following the departure of Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea continued to reform their attack, after adding Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Chelsea have won the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Nkunku, according to The Athletic, with the Blues set to pay €60m (£52.7m) to release him from his contract with the German club.

Nkunku will join Chelsea next summer.

The French striker also underwent a medical and signed a memorandum of understanding with Chelsea, before the deal was officially approved in June 2023. The reason why Nkunku will have to continue playing for Leipzig until the end of the 2022/23 season is because his contract release clause will not be activated until next summer. Chelsea decided to act early to avoid the risk of being snatched by other rivals.

Moving to Germany to play football since 2019, up to now, Nkunku has scored 55 goals and had 48 assists after 148 matches for RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old player has also just debuted for the French national team and is likely to be named in the list for the upcoming 2022 World Cup. Recently, Liverpool, Real Madrid and PSG have also been interested in Nkunku. However, Chelsea pursued him more vigorously and succeeded in recruiting him.
