Recounting the journey of planning and organizing the arrest of Trieu Van Hai, the suspect in the murder of his wife on the afternoon of August 30, Cao Bang Provincial Police said: Before Hai's strange disappearance, the police traced Hai's relationship during his medical studies in Thai Nguyen.
Detectives searched 20 motels where Hai had taken his girlfriend to stay. When they finished screening, they learned that Hai was at Group 13, Quang Trung Ward, Thai Nguyen City at 9:00 a.m. on August 31. At nearly 9:00 p.m. the same day, the subject turned off his phone.
Next, the detective received information that Hai had been in Ho Chi Minh City for 1 day and then returned to Hanoi.

At 8:00 p.m. on September 7, at a motel on Tran Duy Hung Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi, the professional unit arrested Hai and extradited him to Cao Bang that same night.
The Investigation Police Agency, Cao Bang Provincial Police have decided to prosecute the murder case.
Although the criminal case has been initiated, the police have not yet prosecuted Hai because the body of the victim, Hai's wife - Ms. Dang Thi H., has not been found.

Hai's parents had three children, Hai was the eldest. Hai was loved the most by his mother, who provided money for his education, even after he got married and worked at the hospital.
When Hai was extradited to Cao Bang, Colonel Duc went directly to the detention camp to work.
“When we met in prison, Hai greeted me as uncle because he knew I was from the same commune. I told him that Hai’s mother, Mrs. H., always loved and cared for Hai in a special way. Therefore, if you have done something wrong, you must honestly confess it and not think negatively.
Because if I think negatively, if something happens, the person who will suffer the most will be my mother," Mr. Duc said.
