About 20 tourists were injured when the bridge collapsed. Nine people were seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital. Others only suffered minor injuries.

The Hong Kong Immigration Department said it had contacted the victim’s relatives to help bring them home. The agency said it would keep in touch with the injured person’s family and the travel agency to resolve the matter.

The 20 tourists involved in the accident were part of a group of 300 people from Tai Po District, Hong Kong. They were on a four-day trip to Gangshan Province from April 14. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the police.

Dujuan Mountain is over 1,300 meters above sea level and is a famous tourist destination that attracts many visitors. In particular, in April and May, this place has beautiful blooming lilies.

This is not the first time a bridge has collapsed in a tourist area in China. In October 2013, dozens of tourists were swept away when a bridge collapsed in a Jiangxi park.
