Bridge collapsed in China, many tourists fell into the river
Nine tourists from Hong Kong were hospitalized with serious injuries after a wooden bridge collapsed in Jiangxi, China, and they fell 3 meters into the river.
A bridge at a ticket checkpoint on Dujuan Mountain in the Jinggang Mountains in Jiangxi, China, suddenly collapsed, causing many tourists from Hong Kong to fall into the river 3 meters below, the South China Morning Post reported on April 16.

About 20 tourists were injured when the bridge collapsed. Nine were seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital. Others suffered only minor injuries.
The Hong Kong Immigration Department said it had contacted the victim's relatives to help bring them home. The agency said it would stay in touch with the injured person's family and the travel agency to resolve the matter.
The 20 tourists involved in the accident were part of a group of 300 people from Tai Po District, Hong Kong. They were on a four-day trip to Gangshan Province from April 14. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the police.
Dujuan Mountain is more than 1,300 meters above sea level, is a famous tourist destination, attracting many visitors. Especially, in April and May, this place has beautiful blooming lilies.
This is not the first time a bridge has collapsed in a tourist area in China. In October 2013, dozens of tourists were drowned in a river when a bridge collapsed in a Jiangxi park.
