In the qualifying match between Norway and Bulgaria on the evening of October 13th, Odegaard set a new record when he came on as a substitute for Mats Moller Daelhi in the 63rd minute.

Odegaard's achievement far surpasses the previous record of 16 years (251).The goal was set by Sigurdur Jonsson (Iceland) during the Euro 1984 qualifiers.

Odegaard made his international debut against the UAE in August, setting a record as the youngest player to wear the Norwegian national team jersey at the age of 15 years and 253 days. Prior to that, the midfielder had also set a series of records for appearances and goals while playing for Stromsgodset.

Odegaard previously trained at Manchester United's academy. Currently, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona are leading the race to sign the young boy.

If we only consider the final tournament, the youngest player to participate in the Euro is Jetro Willems of the Netherlands. This midfielder featured in the match against Denmark in the group stage of Euro 2012 when he was just 18 years and 71 days old.

The 5 youngest players to ever participate in the Euro (including qualifying rounds):

1. Martin Odegaard (Norway) 15 years 300 days

3. Peter Jehle (Liechtenstein) 16 years 265 days
