Dong Thap players hire lawyers to recover money.
With a depleted squad and not having their strongest lineup for the upcoming match against QNK.Quang Nam, Dong Thap players are also facing financial difficulties due to an unpaid debt of 2 billion VND from the 2014 season. If this issue remains unresolved, it is feared that the Dong Thap players will have to play with a less than ideal mindset.
Captain Duy Khanh said: “Currently, the club owes us players our salaries and bonuses. We went to meet with the club's representatives to discuss the issue, but we were told that the debt would be handled by Dong Thap Football Company Limited (which has been dissolved - PV).
We were quite upset by that response, because it's clear that we are currently under the management of Dong Thap Football Development Joint Stock Company. The old company has been dissolved, so there's no money left to pay. Therefore, in the near future, if the team's leadership doesn't address the issue clearly and thoroughly for the players, we will seek legal assistance, because that reward is well-deserved given what we have contributed to the club.”

Dong Thap FC struggled to continue participating in the 2015 V-League due to a lack of operating funds. However, after being "rescued" at the last minute and allowed to participate in this year's season, the team is still burdened with many debts that Dong Thap Football Company Limited has yet to pay.
Speaking to Sports & Culture, Mr. Vuong Thanh Trung (Technical Director of Dong Thap Club) said: “Currently, the team's leadership, along with the provincial leadership, are urgently seeking ways to resolve all obstacles and procedures to quickly settle this matter, avoiding any impact on the team's professional quality.”
We understand that if the players have lingering concerns outside of their professional duties, they won't be able to give their all on the field. However, legal issues cannot be resolved immediately. Currently, provincial leaders and relevant departments will sit down together to find a way to resolve the matter quickly and ensure the rights of the players are protected.
Through this, I also advise the players to rest assured and continue playing football, as all procedures have been implemented. However, due to legal factors, the transfer procedures between the two companies cannot be completed overnight, but we will do everything possible to ensure that the players' rights are protected as soon as possible.”
With Dong Thap only having 4 points after 5 rounds, this is considered an unsatisfactory result for fans in Tram Chim. Despite facing many disadvantages, Dong Thap still has grounds to earn points in this match. That is, they are playing at home, where the "Cao Lan cauldron," with its passionate support from the fans, is considered a difficult place for visiting teams to get a win.
