Where are the players from Nghe An?

(Baonghean) Since Vietnamese football resumed competing in Southeast Asian and Asian championships, the national team and U23 team have consistently included players from Nghe An province. Among them, Huu Thang, Van Sy Hung, Duong Hong Son, Huy Hoang, Van Quyen, Cong Vinh, Trong Hoang, Quoc Vuong… are players who have made significant contributions to the Vietnamese national team's achievements.

When on the field, players from Nghe An province possess good technique, enduring physical strength, and especially a high spirit and willpower for their country's colors. Therefore, players from Nghe An are indispensable in the Vietnamese national team.

Besides their undeniable strengths and contributions, it's regrettable that some players from Nghe An lack self-respect and integrity, leading them to engage in wrongdoing. This not only tarnishes the image of some players in the eyes of fans but also damages the reputation of players from Nghe An as a whole. Nevertheless, whenever players are called up for the national team, the coaching staff and head coach cannot ignore those from Nghe An.

At the 2012 AFF Cup, the Vietnamese national team included 6-7 players from Nghe An province. Before the finals, many Nghe An fans had high expectations for these players. They hoped the Vietnamese team would play with passion and give their all in every match, whether against stronger or weaker opponents. Unfortunately, these expectations were not met. This was a sad situation for the Vietnamese team and also for the players from Nghe An who participated in the matches.

After many national team training camps, this year, 2013, for the first time, out of the 26 players called up, there is only one player from Nghe An: Au Van Hoan! And then, it remains to be seen whether Au Van Hoan will get to play in the two upcoming Asian Championship qualifying matches. There's something a little sad about this for the players from Nghe An, especially those from the renowned SLNA academy!

It's a bit sad for the fans, but for the players from Nghe An, especially those currently playing in SLNA's squad from the first team to the youth teams, they must think things through properly, not be sad. They should think about it to learn, train, and improve their skills, physical fitness, willpower, spirit, and character. So that in a few years, if someone asks: "Where are the players from Nghe An?", they can confidently answer: "We're here!"
