Goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh and Phi Son had to 'struggle' to verify their accounts, even having to create new Facebook accounts because they didn't want to lose money to scammers.

Goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh is the latest victim of a Vietnamese footballer whose Facebook account has been hacked. On September 17, the SLNA goalkeeper’s wife warned everyone that his personal page had been taken over by a scammer to defraud his assets. Nguyen Manh is taking steps to verify his identity to retrieve his account with nearly 60,000 followers, but the outcome is still unclear.
More than a week ago, midfielder Tran Phi Son also fell into a similar situation. The girlfriend of the midfielder of Ho Chi Minh City Club revealed that the scammer demanded a ransom of up to tens of millions of VND. Phi Son decided to completely delete that account despite having tens of thousands of followers and thousands of friends to create a new account. However, shortly after, his second account was also hacked.
Determined not to give in to the bad guys, Phi Son continued to create a third account. He asked his close colleagues to inform his friends that his Facebook was hacked and added him as a friend on the new personal page.

In addition to Facebook hacking, many players and coaches in Vietnam have also been impersonated by bad guys recently. Many fake accounts and fan pages using the names of players and coaches were created to spread false news to attract likes or sell products online. Coach Park Hang-seo was also impersonated on Facebook during the time Vietnam Olympic team competed at the 2018 Asian Games. The Korean coach later had to speak up to confirm that he did not use social networks and all accounts and fan pages under his name were fake.
