Overseas Vietnamese player from Nghe An returns home to play for U19 Vietnam
On the afternoon of July 6, overseas Vietnamese midfielder Ho Huu Hung, originally from Quynh Luu district, arrived in Hanoi to join the U19 Vietnam team.
This is a very meaningful return for midfielder Ho Huu Hung, as he was called up to try out for the Vietnam U19 team.

Sharing with Nghe An Newspaper reporter, midfielder Huu Hung said: ''Returning to Vietnam this time, I long to wear the national team jersey, something my parents have always wanted. I often watch Quang Hai and really like his playing style. Besides, I also like Cong Phuong because he is the best attacking midfielder in Vietnam."

When asked about his advantages to compete with players in Vietnam, Huu Hung said: "Because I was trained in Europe since I was young, I am very confident in my physical strength, technique and speed. Most recently, I met Patrik Le Giang, goalkeeper Le Giang is the person who motivated me to return to Vietnam. Le Giang said that I must always try and never give up whether I am a reserve or a starter."

Sharing about the obstacles when returning to Vietnam to compete, Ho Huu Hung said: "Besides the weather, my language is not good yet, I need time to get used to my teammates on the national team. As for the problems on the training ground as well as on the competition field, I am very confident. My biggest goal is that from wearing the U19 Vietnam team shirt, I can contribute to the development of Vietnamese football by playing for the National Team."
Midfielder Ho Huu Hung was born in 2006, originally from Nghe An. Both his parents are from Quynh Luu district, and he holds both Vietnamese and Czech citizenship.

This player has spent 13 years training and playing football in the Czech Republic; currently playing for CU Bohemians Praha Club in the Czech Republic National Championship and has participated in the Czech Republic U15/U16 team.
Before playing for CU Bohemians Praha, Ho Huu Hung played for FC Slovácko from 2011 to 2016 and SK Slavia Praha from 2016 to 2018. Ho Huu Hung's best positions are attacking midfielder and winger. He is considered a "strange bird" in this training session of the Vietnam U19 team.

He and his teammates will practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center until July 16, after which the team will leave for Indonesia to participate in the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship with the official list shortened to 23 players.
The 2024 AFF U19 Championship will take place in Surabaya, Indonesia from July 17 to 29, 2024. Teams will compete in a round-robin format in each group to determine rankings.
