The newly repaired spillway was severely damaged.

According to the people of Duc Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), Quang Thanh spillway bridge located in Quang Thanh hamlet was built in 2014, serving the travel needs of people in the hamlet to the commune center. However, this spillway bridge is now severely damaged, causing danger to people's travel.

According to Mr. Ha Huy Cong - Chairman of Duc Thanh Commune People's Committee, this spillway was severely damaged by the impact of two major storms in late 2017. Afterwards, the project was repaired with a budget of about 50 million VND from support from superiors.

However, after being repaired only a few months ago, the spillway is now degraded and damaged, no different than before the repair.

Although the spillway is at risk of collapsing at any time, there are no warning signs or signs prohibiting trucks from passing, making the already damaged spillway even worse.

Mr. Nguyen Van T. in Quang Thanh hamlet said: “The structure is severely damaged, so it is very dangerous to travel, especially at both ends of the spillway. Although this spillway was repaired by the local government a few months ago, I don’t understand why it deteriorated so quickly.”

According to observations, the spillway surface at one end is currently broken due to the hollow inside the base. One side of the spillway has been washed away by the water, leaving only a concrete slab on the surface. The walkway to cross is more than half "swallowed" by the water, making the already unsafe travel even more dangerous.

It is known that Duc Thanh commune is focusing on investing in building infrastructure to prepare for the new rural finish line.
