Thousand-year-old banyan tree on the land of gold
((Baonghean.vn) - On the land containing a lot of gold in Western Nghe An, there is a unique hundred-year-old banyan tree.
Cam Muon is known as the land of gold, a place with large gold reserves in the West of Nghe An. In Thai, Cam means gold, where Khe Cam is located - also known as Khe Vang. Here, there is an ancient banyan tree that is protected and preserved by the people.

According to observations, the banyan tree is about 40-50 meters high, 13 people can hug it, the trunk is rough, the roots extend hundreds of meters. Despite its age, the banyan tree is still green and growing well. On hot summer days, when returning from working in the fields, local people often sit under the banyan tree to rest and avoid the sun. On summer days, children often gather under the tree canopy to play and play folk games.

Mr. Lo Van Co (92 years old), residing in Cam village, Cam Muon commune, said: "When I was a child, I heard my grandparents tell me that the banyan tree above has been there for nearly a thousand years. No one knows exactly how old the banyan tree is, but since the village was established, it has been about 300 years. The elders passed down the story that they saw the banyan tree standing there."
