The banyan tree and Lang Sen Stadium have gone down in history as the place where President Ho Chi Minh visited his hometown twice, the first time on June 16, 1957, the second time on December 9, 1961. Here, he had a friendly talk with cadres, party members, and farmers of Kim Lien commune. He kindly asked about everyone's health, and advised everyone to compete in good production, unite, love, and care for each other to build a prosperous and happy life. Photo: Huy Thu

On the trunk of the banyan tree, the branches have spread out in all directions. From the banyan branches, many roots hang down to the ground. In order to preserve and create conditions for these roots to grow, the staff of the Kim Lien Relic Site used to cover the roots with straw and dry banana leaves. Photo: Huy Thu
The banyan tree is green all year round. In the summer, the banyan tree often blooms. The clusters of tiny yellow flowers hidden among the leaves add to the beauty of the ancient banyan tree. Photo: Huy Thu

Mr. Nguyen Sinh Thu (81 years old) living in Sen 1 hamlet, Kim Lien commune - who witnessed the moment when Uncle Ho visited his hometown twice shared: "The day Uncle Ho visited his hometown in 1961, like the people of Sen village, I was present early at the stadium to welcome him. That day, the banyan tree in the stadium was also huge. Over the past 60 years, this banyan tree has not only been associated with the people of my village but also a relic marking unforgettable memories when Uncle Ho visited his hometown". Photo: Huy Thu

Previously, the area around the banyan tree and Sen village stadium did not have a fence, but now a fence has been built around the stadium. The ancient banyan tree is carefully cared for and is increasingly spreading its shade. Photo: Huy Thu

About 25 meters from the ancient banyan tree, on the other side of the road is Sen village temple - an ancient relic of Sen village, my paternal hometown. At this relic, there is also a large banyan tree, providing shade for the temple. Photo: Huy Thu
The banyan tree, the stadium, and the Sen village temple have formed an important cluster of relics in the Kim Lien Relic Site. Every time we make a pilgrimage to Uncle Ho's hometown, when we see the banyan tree in the corner of the stadium, we are filled with nostalgia for the days when Uncle Ho visited his homeland.
