The incident occurred on December 17 in a western Russian city. An angry fan returned with a can of gasoline and a box of matches after an argument with the owner of the bar. He then poured gasoline into the bar and set it on fire, causing about $45,000 in damage.

The arsonist was reportedly turned down when he wanted to watch a CSKA Moscow match on the bar's television. "I need to watch this. It's a big game," he told the bar owner during an argument.

Citing the need to show a TV series to a group of regular customers, the owner of the restaurant refused the fanatic's request to watch football. "I won't change the channel for you. Tomorrow you will go to another restaurant, and I have to serve the people who come here to watch this series every week," the owner said.

Feeling humiliated, the fanatic immediately went out to get gasoline and returned to burn down the restaurant. The restaurant owner and customers managed to escape, so there were no casualties.

Police arrested the fan and charged him with arson. He was released on bail but banned from leaving Kaliningrad until his trial.
