The 35-year-old businesswoman, who holds an MBA from Harvard University (USA), has earned more than $9 billion with co-founder Anthony Tan since Grab launched in 2012. As chief operating officer, Ms. Tan focuses on increasing market share in the 8 countries and 336 cities where Grab operates.

In Japan, where women hold just 7.7% of executive positions, 24-year-old Akiko Naka blazed her own trail when she founded the job search website Wantedly in late 2017.
