Responding to the United Nations' program "World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims", on the evening of November 18, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to commemorate the victims of traffic accidents in 2018.
This is the 7th time Nghe An has held a memorial service, praying for the deceased and spreading the message: "Remembering those who left - for those who stay".

In Nghe An, according to statistics, in the first 10 months of 2018 (from December 2017 to October 2018), the whole province had 233 traffic accidents, killing 149 people and leaving 166 people with lifelong disabilities. The main causes of these accidents are often due to traffic participants using alcohol, not controlling their speed, carrying more people than the prescribed number...
Expressing his condolences to all families of victims who died and were injured in traffic accidents, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien emphasized that although traffic accidents in Nghe An have decreased, there are still many cases with large casualties; traffic violations, especially among young people, are increasing.
“I request that every cadre, party member, and citizen strictly comply with the Traffic Law, voluntarily give way and help each other when participating in traffic, and ensure safety for themselves and everyone else. Every family and school needs to educate their children about awareness and responsibility when participating in traffic. Every adult, especially parents and teachers, should be an example of traffic culture and always remember the obligation to ensure safety for children when participating in traffic,” said comrade Huynh Thanh Dien.
