The Hanoi People's Procuracy has just completed the indictment to prosecute Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong (62 years old) and Pham Thi Hoa (61 years old) for the crime of Fraudulent appropriation of property.
According to the indictment, in 2008, Nguyen Tien Hoang (Mr. and Mrs. Cuong's son) was given a piece of land of more than 84 square meters in Van Dien town, Thanh Tri district by his grandparents.Even though he sold this land, when his business failed, Hoang forged documents to fraudulently borrow money.In early July 2009, Hoang hired someone to forge nine red books and three pink books.
According to the accusation, when the lender asked about the origin of the property, Mr. Cuong and his wife helped their son confirm that the property had not been mortgaged or pledged.

In 2010, Hoang was sentenced by the Hanoi People's Court to 17 years in prison for two crimes: Fraudulent appropriation of property and Forgery of documents of agencies and organizations.
After a period of being on the run, at the end of 2016, Mr. Cuong and his wife turned themselves in.
The prosecution said that Mr. Cuong and his wife were accomplices in helping their son appropriate the assets of the lenders. However, they did not benefit, honestly reported and were old, so the authorities did not consider the act of falsifying documents of the organization.
