According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, examination councils must complete marking before July 20.
Immediately after the exam ends today, July 4, the examination councils of the Northern schools will transport the exam papers to the headquarters to prepare and grade the exam papers.
Mr. Huynh Quyet Thang, Vice Principal of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the unit in charge of a university exam cluster in Hanoi, said that the issue the school is most concerned about in the exam marking work is how to ensure the progress assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Mr. Thang said that the school had planned the grading in advance. For multiple-choice exams, the school asked the Department of Testing of the Ministry of Education and Training to grade the exams; the school only received the results.
For Math, the school will mobilize about 50 of its Math teachers to grade the exams. "The teachers mobilized to grade the exams will not have to participate in the exam invigilation. Currently, some teachers are on vacation. After the exam ends, these teachers will start grading the exams."
For the subjects Literature - History - Geography, which are subjects that Hanoi University of Science and Technology does not have lecturers for, the school, through the Department of Education and Training, mobilized about 30-40 high school teachers in the area to grade the exams for these three subjects.
Mr. Thang said that this year, the number of candidates taking the exam at the exam cluster hosted by the University of Science and Technology is larger, so the number of exam papers is also larger. The number of exam supervisors last year was only about 750, but this year it is 946.
According to Mr. Thang, the number of exams is large, plus the Ministry of Education and Training wants to increase the time for candidates to be considered for admission, so the time for marking the exams for the examination council is also stricter. "Just mobilizing enough exam markers is quite difficult. Just a little mistake will cause the marking schedule to be delayed" - Mr. Thang said.
Unlike Hanoi University of Science and Technology, which presides over the exam cluster right at the school, Vietnam National University of Agriculture is assigned to preside over a university exam cluster in Hai Duong province. Therefore, after the exam ends, the academy will have to transport the exam papers from Hai Duong to the school to conduct the exam marking.
"Around the afternoon of July 5, the academy will start marking and then organize the exam marking. It is expected that the school's exam marking will take about 10 days to complete," said Mr. Vu Ngoc Huyen, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Affairs, Agricultural Academy, member of the exam steering committee in Hai Duong.

Meanwhile, schools in the South are also urgently completing the exam marking progress.
Dr. Tran Dinh Ly, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that this year the school was assigned to host the exam cluster in Gia Lai. He said that after each exam subject was completed, the exam papers were transported to the archive of the school's branch in Gia Lai.
At the end of the exam, the exam papers will be transported to Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry for marking and marking. The means of transport is a specialized vehicle of Gia Lai Provincial Post Office, with police protection.
On July 5, the papers were transferred from Gia Lai to the school. From July 6, the work of marking and processing the papers began. Regarding the organization of the exam marking, Mr. Ly said that it is expected to start marking on July 9 and finish before July 18.
“We have fully prepared 149 examiners from Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, teachers from the Departments of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan, Gia Lai. This team of examiners has participated in marking for many years and has been selected to mark the essay part. The school will mark the multiple-choice part,” said Mr. Ly.
To ensure the safety and security of the exam, the security force has been strengthened by the Thu Duc District Police, Ho Chi Minh City. The physical conditions for organizing the exam marking and preserving the exam papers ensure security and safety.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Kim Hong, principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, informed that he will invite teachers from other districts in Ho Chi Minh City to grade the candidates in districts 5, 6, 8, 10, Tan Binh, Binh Chanh for Math, Literature, History, Geography and English essay, the rest will be graded by scanners.
Mr. Hong affirmed that the marking of the exams will be strictly protected, even the marking of multiple choice tests will have security forces guarding, examining and making records. The exams will be marked in two rounds, and independently checked. If there is a difference of 0.25 points, a third round of marking will be carried out.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Head of Training Department of this school also added that the grading team has 526 people, of which 143 are for Math, 171 are for Literature, 49 are for History, 58 are for Geography, and 105 are for English (essay).
“We started cutting the answer sheets the day after the first exam day (July 2) and expect to finish the work on August 7. We will start marking on July 8 and expect to finish before July 18.”
Mr. Trung also said that the marking of the test is done according to the regulations of the Ministry, randomly marking 5% of the number of test papers. The marking of the test is done by an independent team in a separate room, the teachers who mark the test are experienced people, selected from the marking team. Currently, the marking area has been isolated and installed with cameras for regular monitoring.
Mr. Pham Thai Son, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry said: "This afternoon we will transfer the papers from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City. On the morning of July 5, we will prepare the test sheets, and on the afternoon of July 5, we will cut the test sheets. On July 8, we will focus on grading."
Mr. Son added that the school invited 200 teachers, of which more than 100 were from the school and Ho Chi Minh City, the rest were teachers from Tay Ninh province to grade the exams, but the head of the exam grading and testing team was from the university.
The exams are graded in two independent rounds, then 5% or more of the exams are randomly checked by drawing lots.
According to Mr. Son, the exam marking is expected to take place in 1 week, ending on July 15 and focusing on checking scores. The exam scores will be announced on July 20 according to the schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Minister Phung Xuan Nha: 0.5 difference in exam scores requires direct dialogue The regulations stipulate that exam scores are graded on a 10-point scale, rounded to two decimal places; scores are not rounded (in 2015, the regulations stipulate that exam scores are graded on a 10-point scale, rounded to 0.25). If the re-examination score differs from the first round of marking by 0.5 points or more, a direct dialogue must be organized between the first round of marking officers and the re-examination scorers (in 2015, regulations stipulated that if the re-examination score differs by 0.5 points or more for natural sciences and by 1.0 points or more for social sciences, a direct dialogue must be organized between the first round of marking officers and the re-examination scorers). This is more beneficial for candidates and the differentiation of exam scores is better, making it easier to apply to universities and colleges. The examination councils announce the results after completing the marking and comparing the results stored at the councils with the results updated in the national high school exam management system. Thus, with 120 examination councils announcing the results, the load will be distributed, helping candidates to look up their exam results more easily, overcoming the problem of network congestion. |
