According to the official dispatch of the Ministry of Information and Communications, in recent times, there has been a situation where many reporters and collaborators of press agencies have been working with documents and cards that can be easily confused with the Press Card. There have been many cases of using these documents and cards to contact businesses, solicit advertising, causing trouble for agencies, organizations, businesses, and negatively affecting the honor and professional reputation of journalists who are operating in accordance with the law.
In document 3366/BTTTT-CBC, the Ministry of Information and Communications requested to inspect, review and rectify the issuance of documents and cards that cause confusion with the Press Card.
Press agencies that issue letters of introduction to reporters on assignment must comply with regulations, clearly stating which organization or agency they are working with, what the content is, and the specific time.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will coordinate with the Department of Information and Communications of provinces and centrally-run cities and relevant agencies to strictly handle violations of regulations on professional activities and use of Press Cards.
