Stop 6 tons of expired candy about to be smuggled into the market
On the evening of November 29, the Cu Chi Market Management Team, Ho Chi Minh City, announced that it had just inspected and discovered nearly 6 tons of expired candy at a confectionery production and trading facility located in the district.
Currently, the authorities have temporarily detained all of the above goods for handling according to the provisions of law.
Previously, at 11:00 a.m. the same day, the Cu Chi Market Management Team coordinated with relevant units to conduct an inspection of a confectionery production and trading facility in Tan Thong Hoi commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.
Here, the inspection team discovered nearly 6 tons of expired tamarind and apricot candies with their packaging removed and contained in nylon bags without product labels.
More than 1.5 tons of peeled and seeded custard apples were stored in uncovered plastic containers, thousands of plastic packaging with expired labels that had their mouths cut open to take out the finished product, and many used machines and vehicles of unknown origin.
At the time of inspection, candy ingredients were placed near the toilet, near the poultry cage; finished candy products were placed on dirty floors, not ensuring hygiene.
Working with the authorities, the representative of the above facility could not present any documents, invoices, or vouchers related to production and business activities.
Currently, the authorities have temporarily detained all of the above goods and vehicles for handling according to regulations./.
