Portrait of a female student majoring in Chemistry in Phu Tho, the national valedictorian of block A00
Nguyen Le Hien Mai from Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho, became one of eight valedictorians of block A00 nationwide with a perfect score of 30/30.
This success is not only the result of hard work but also demonstrates a scientific learning method and clear future orientation.
Journey to Excellence
Hien Mai started her journey with Chemistry in 8th grade, realizing that she had a natural aptitude for logical thinking. Winning first prize in the provincial Chemistry competition for 9th graders paved the way for her to enter a prestigious specialized school.

During her three years in high school, Mai not only maintained her position as class monitor in the Chemistry class but also continuously won second prize in provincial-level Chemistry competitions, demonstrating her stability in studying and participating in academic activities.
Mai's secret lies in focusing on listening to the lecture to understand it right in class, then analyzing it herself to deeply understand the lesson. This approach helps her save time reviewing at home and increases her learning efficiency.
In particular, Mai spends a lot of time on Physics, which is not her strong point, while studying Chemistry more lightly because it is her strong point. This time allocation strategy shows self-awareness and reasonable adjustment.
During the preparation for the 2025 high school graduation exam, Mai mainly practiced the questions provided by teachers in combination with participating in online courses to improve her knowledge of three subjects A00.
In the last two weeks, I focused on practicing at home and achieved near-perfect results on most of the tests. Maintaining a regular sleep time before 11pm and focusing on studying during the day shows that I understand the importance of health in studying.
Exam review and future prospects
Mai commented that this year's Math exam was more challenging than the other practice tests, requiring more time to complete. On the contrary, although Physics made her the most worried, the exam was quite easy.

In addition to her excellent academic performance, Mai actively participates in social activities such as Head of the Fly Organization's External Relations Committee and Head of the Museum of Thought Organizing Committee, demonstrating her leadership skills and dedication.
Although excelling in block A00, Mai is leaning towards the business field. She shared that she was exposed to this field from a young age when observing her mother working, and found herself suitable for flexible and creative jobs.
