Blocking the route from Nghe An to the North of 4 heroin cakes and 6,000 synthetic drug pills
(Baonghean.vn) - From the North, two subjects entered the Nghe An border area to trade drugs in large quantities and then transport them to Hanoi and Hai Phong for consumption. However, their route was blocked by the police.
On May 11, Quy Chau District Police said that the unit had just coordinated with related units to successfully destroy a large-scale drug case, arresting two subjects while they were carrying 4 heroin cakes and 6,000 pink synthetic drug pills from the Vietnam - Laos border area in Nghe An to northern provinces and cities for consumption.
Around the end of April 2020, through professional work, Quy Chau District Police suspected organized and large-scale drug trafficking activities when they saw a number of Northerners meeting with drug addicts with criminal records in Quy Chau and Que Phong districts, so they deployed investigation and verification measures. After identifying the related subjects, the District Police established a special project to fight and eradicate them.

On May 6, information reported to the Investigation Committee said that two subjects in Hanoi had contacted a Laotian subject in the Vietnam-Laos border area in Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district and would conduct drug trafficking transactions.
To ensure the safety of the participants as well as to successfully solve the case, the Task Force has developed a specific plan and arranged checkpoints on the roads, monitoring all movements and routes of the subjects.
At around 11pm on May 7, in the Viet Huong Village area, Chau Hoi Commune, Quy Chau District, when discovering a red Hyundai Grand i10 car with characteristics matching the information obtained moving at high speed, the Task Force coordinated with the Traffic Police to signal the car to stop, but the subject did not comply and sped away.
However, all developments were within the calculations of the Task Force, another working group set up a blockade at Km174+150m in Ke Mong village, Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district, quickly approached and forced the subject's car to the side of the road. At this time, two subjects in the car opened the door and ran away, one of whom held a sharp knife and tried to fight back. However, the two subjects were quickly controlled and arrested: Vu Dinh Hai (born in 1973), residing in Lien Trung commune, Dan Phuong district, Hanoi city and Pham Van Thanh (born in 1983), residing in Thanh Quang commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province.
Searching the car, the police seized 4 heroin cakes, 6,000 synthetic drug pills and many related exhibits.
At the police station, the suspects confessed to their crimes. The case is currently under further investigation and expansion.
