Refrigerated truck carrying nearly 10 tons of 'dirty' meat with foul odor blocked

At around 3:00 a.m. on May 16, on National Highway 10 through Thuy Nguyen District (Hai Phong), traffic police at Ben Binh Station discovered a refrigerated truck with similar characteristics to the vehicle reported to be transporting unsanitary meat and animal organs from the South to Quang Ninh Province for consumption, so they conducted an administrative inspection.

Driver Nguyen Thanh Phong could not produce invoices or documents proving the origin of nearly 10 tons of meat and frozen animal organs that were giving off a foul odor. Mr. Phong claimed he was just a hired driver.

The incident was reported to the authorities of Hai Phong city by the traffic police at Ben Binh station. This afternoon, the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district sent the entire batch of "dirty" food to be burned.
