The student from Nghe An province shines in Bulgaria.

(Baonghean) - Currently a fourth-year student at Sofia University of Chemical and Metallurgical Technology (Bulgaria), Bui Huu Hau has been awarded the title of Best Foreign Student in Bulgaria by the Minister of Education, Youth and Science of Bulgaria.

Hau's family originally came from Nghe An province. In 1995, due to difficult economic conditions, Hau's father, Mr. Bui Huu Phuong, moved the entire family to residential area 3, Chu Ty town (Duc Co district, Gia Lai province) to start a new life. Life in the border region was full of hardships and difficulties, but in return, Mr. and Mrs. Phuong were blessed with four children who were all excellent students and loved each other. In particular, their youngest son, Huu Hau, consistently achieved many academic successes.

After graduating from junior high school, Hau brought his application and transcript to Hung Vuong Specialized High School (a school with the best teaching and learning achievements in Gia Lai province) to apply for admission. Given the achievements of this student from a district school, the school's administration accepted his application.

Throughout her three years at the school, Hau won numerous awards: In the 2005-2006 school year, she won a Silver Medal in the Chemistry Olympiad for 10th graders held in Da Nang City; in the 2006-2007 school year, she won a Silver Medal in the 30-4 Chemistry Olympiad for 11th graders held at Hue National High School for the Gifted; and in the 2007-2008 school year, she won third prize in the national excellent student competition in Chemistry.

Given his achievements, Hau was directly admitted by the Ministry of Education and Training to study at a university under the educational cooperation program between Vietnam and Bulgaria. During his three years of study in Bulgaria, Hau achieved many outstanding accomplishments, including: the title of Best Foreign Student in Bulgaria, awarded by the Bulgarian Minister of Education, Youth and Science, Mr. Sergey Ignatov; numerous commendations during visits by Vietnamese delegations led by National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan; and being elected Head of the Vietnamese Student Representative Office in Sofia, Bulgaria; and winning two Silver Medals at the Bulgarian Student Mathematics Olympiad in 2011 and 2012...

During her time studying abroad, some people suggested that Hau could stay in Bulgaria to work, but Hau said: "Right now, I'm just trying to study hard to win many scholarships and gain as much scientific and technical knowledge as possible so that I can return to Vietnam later to serve my country."

Currently, Hau is a fourth-year student at the Sofia University of Chemical and Metallurgical Technology (Bulgaria). Besides achieving a perfect 6.0/6.0 GPA in all subjects, Hau has also won numerous European scholarships throughout her studies.
