Born in 1994, Moong Van Son was born and raised in a poor family in Pha Khao village, Pha Danh commune, Ky Son mountainous district. When he was 7 years old, Son's parents passed away one after another. The pain of loss continued, and it seemed that from then on Son's life would have no future. However, with extraordinary determination and a love of learning, after graduating from high school, Son registered to study the Primary Veterinary class organized by Ky Son district.

After much effort in studying and accumulating knowledge for himself, in early 2016, Moong Van Son returned to his village and applied for a loan from the District Social Policy Bank of 30 million VND, and a loan from the Ky Son District Agricultural Bank of 50 million VND. With this capital, Son invested in buying 1 breeding buffalo and 3 breeding cows. Since then, thanks to his diligence, hard work, more than 2 years of active care and many additional investments, Son now has a farm with 16 cows, 3 buffaloes, and 20 goats. Along with that is a 5-hectare farm, which brings Son's family over 100 million VND each year. Therefore, from a poor household, Son's family now has food and savings, and has become a well-off household in the village.

Moong Van Son shared: "I want to help my family overcome the difficult life of poverty, so I try my best. In addition to buffaloes, cows, and goats, I am currently expanding my farm and planting over 1,000 banana trees." After many years of saving, Son has now built a solid 3-room stilt house with a tiled roof and is considered one of the most beautiful houses in Pha Khao village, Pha Danh commune. Everyone in the village, young and old, admires and learns from Son's economic development methods. Mr. Cut Thanh Hai, Pha Khao village, Pha Danh commune, exclaimed: "Son is a very talented young man, good at raising livestock, good at trading, even old people like us cannot do what Son does. In the village, young and old, everyone admires Son's virtue of being patient and hardworking."

Not only investing in livestock farming, when having many sources of capital, Moong Van Son also invested in business, selling groceries, both to increase family income from 1 to 2 million VND per month, and to meet the shopping needs of people in the village.
When Son's family's life had passed the hardships, it was also the time for Son to realize his dream. He took the entrance exam to the intermediate medical class in Vinh city. Based on the knowledge he learned at medical school, Son voluntarily wrote an application to join as a medical collaborator at the village level.

Mrs. Moong Thi Toan, 75 years old, a patient who Son regularly visits, said: "I am old, my health is very weak, I often have to go to the hospital for treatment. After being discharged from the hospital and returning home, Son, a village health worker, regularly comes to examine, measure my blood pressure, give me support medicine, and give me medicine to drink, so my condition has improved, I feel better and I can eat and live better."

With many efforts to improve in life, along with many achievements, for many years Son has received a Certificate of Merit from the Standing Committee of Ky Son District Youth Union. In particular, Son is one of 25 typical ethnic youths of the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union in 2018.
In the land of Pha Danh, young people who are bold, dare to think, dare to do like Moong Van Son are inspiring factors for everyone, especially the Khmu people to learn and follow, to gradually push back poverty and backwardness.
