Nghe An boy achieved a 'double' at the National Open Sports Dance Competition
(Baonghean.vn) - Dancer Hoang Dang Bao from Vinh City (Nghe An) won 1 Gold medal and 1 Silver medal at the 2016 National Open Youth Sports Dance Championship and Cup held in Da Nang.

The 2016 National Open Youth Sports Dance Championship and Cup took place on May 28 & 29, 2016 at Tien Son Sports and Culture Palace (Da Nang City), jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City, and the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation. The tournament was attended by a large number of athletes, dancers, and coaches from all over the country.

Athletes participating in the youth tournament are from 12 to 18 years old. There are 6 categories, category A includes 5 Latin dances: chacha, rumba, jive, pasodoble, samba and 5 standard dances: slow Waltz, tango, viennes waltz, slow foxtrot, quickstep.
Class B competes in 4 Latin events (pasodolble omitted), 4 standard dances (viennes waltz omitted).
Class C competes in 3 Latin dances: chacha, rumba, jive and 3 standard dances: slow waltz, tango, quickstep. Class D competes in 2 dances: chacha, rumba(latin), waltz, tango (standard). Class E1 and E2 compete in one dance, with E1 including chacha(latin), waltz(standard) and E2 being rumba(latin) and tango(standard).

Besides the youth competition, the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation also organizes a national open sports dance cup for all ages from children to the elderly.
The Nghe An dance sport group has 5 members. At the end of the tournament, dancer Hoang Dang Bao brought home 1 Gold medal and 1 Silver medal for Nghe An in the rumba and chacharumba dances.
Dancer Hoang Dang Bao (born in 1981) in Hung Dung Ward (Vinh City). He is known as a famous dancer in dance sport in Nghe An and neighboring areas. Previously, he won a Gold Medal at the Hai Phong Open Club Cup in 2015.
