Europe thinks about how to take over 'Nord Stream-2'
In accordance with the EU Gas Directive, the European partners of the pipeline may become the owners of Nord Stream 2, analyst Daniel Chizhevskiy said in a conversation with Polish Radio.
How do Europeans get the pipeline?
In the expert's opinion, the financing of the project by Royal Dutch Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershall could provide "some basis for manipulation".
"In the end, a consortium of EU companies that participated in the project may become the owner of Nord Stream 2, and then everything will correspond to the Gas Directive," analyst Chizhevskiy said.

At the same time, the interlocutor of "Polish Radio" called such a scenario "extreme option".
"Now Gazprom must still expect that the final hearing in the German Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe will result in a decision agreeing to withdraw Nord Stream 2 from the jurisdiction of European Union law," the expert concluded.
Mr. Chizhevskiy also reminded that opponents of the Russian project will find it difficult to prevent the pipeline from being cleared.
"Nord Stream-2"
In September, Gazprom announced the completion of the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Since June, work has been underway on the certification of the pipeline operator.
The head of the Russian corporation, Alexey Miller, spoke about plans to start supplying gas this heating season and export about 5.6 billion cubic meters of gas via pipeline by the end of the year.
