Earlier that day, at 2:00 AM, while patrolling at Km 410 on National Highway 1A in Quynh Giang commune, the patrol team unexpectedly spotted Quy walking alone along National Highway 1A.

After gathering information, the task force contacted the child's father, Mr. Ho Dien Nam (born in 1981, Quynh Minh commune). At approximately 3:00 AM the same day, the traffic police handed the child back to the family.

Speaking to reporters, Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Thanh (Traffic Police Station 1-5) said: “When he saw the police officers approaching, Quy panicked and ran away. The task force used a patrol car to chase after him and finally caught up with him. At that time, the child was frightened and crying, so the police had to comfort him and gather information about his family.”

According to Mr. Ho Dien Nam, on the afternoon of February 25th, Quy asked his father for permission to go to school to work. However, by evening, the family did not see him return home. The family searched everywhere but found no information.

“Normally, I go fishing at sea, so I have to leave Quy and his younger brother with their uncle. My son is very playful and has gotten lost many times before, but never this far. Luckily, the traffic police officers spotted them; otherwise, I don't know where my son would have wandered off to,” Mr. Nam said emotionally.
