Coach Sarri's team controlled the ball up to 71% in London but did not score a single goal against West Ham. The best chance the visitors had came fromsecond-half substitute Alvaro Morata. The Spanish striker finished from close range but was unable to beat goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski, who used his face to block.

West Hamdid not have much of the ball but had the most dangerous chance of the match. In the 78th minute, Robert Snodgrass sent a pass from the left wing to Andriy Yarmolenko, but the Ukrainian player headed wide while unmarked.

The goalless draw ended Chelsea's run of six consecutive wins in all competitions at the start of the season. Sarri's side dropped to third in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Liverpool and behind on goal difference to second-placed Manchester City.

Chelsea lacked a spark in attack against West Ham. Midfielder Eden Hazard, who has been in fine form recently, including a hat-trick that helped Chelsea come back from behind against Cardiff, was unable to make a difference. The Belgian star was closely marked by the home team's defence and received no support as Olivier Giroud and Pedro were injured.

Chelsea's lackluster performance could be explained by the fact that they have just returned from an away trip. Just over two days ago, Chelsea had to travel to Greece to play PAOK in the Europa League and returned home the same night.

In addition to Morata's close-range finish, Chelsea also had a chance to score with a shot from Ross Barkley. The ball was aimed at the far bottom corner, but goalkeeper Fabianski continued to be the hero for West Ham, with an excellent diving save.

Unable to maintain their winning streak, Chelsea remain unbeaten under Sarri, a positive sign that the team needs to maintain. Meanwhile, West Ham have drawn their first game of the season, after one win and four defeats. Pellegrini's side are currently 17th despite their heavy investment this summer.
