Chelsea set to make $165 million shopping hat-trick

July 3, 2017 06:43

The Premier League champions are persistent in their pursuit of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger, Alex Sandro and soon Romelu Lukaku this month.

Chelsea did not sign any players in the summer of 2017, despite selling five players - Nathan Ake, Juan Cuadrado, Asmir Begovic, Bertrand Traore, Christian Atsu - and letting John Terry leave on a free transfer. The London club's only signing was the free transfer of goalkeeper Willy Caballero from Man City.

July is set to be a busy month for the Stamford Bridge outfit. The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are set to complete a hat-trick of deals worth nearly $165 million next week, including Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco for $46 million, Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma for $39.5 million, and Alex Sandro from Juventus for $79 million.

Chelsea's most difficult deal to date is convincing Juventus to release Alex Sandro. According to the Telegraph, the London club's leadership is very optimistic about making the Brazilian the most expensive contract in the club's history, surpassing the old record of Fernando Torres in 2011.

In addition to the three names above, Chelsea also has ambitions to recruit Romelu Lukaku from Everton. Last season's main striker, Diego Costa, almost has no future at Stamford Bridge because the announcement is not in Antonio Conte's plan.

The amount of money Chelsea plans to use to convince Everton is 92 million dollars. If successful, the total amount of money Conte's team spends in the summer of 2017 could exceed 250 million dollars.
