According to the jury, the Chevrolet Bolt was named thanks to its “stylish design, comfortable driving experience, and a host of other modern and connected technologies.” Most importantly, the Chevrolet Bolt can travel 383 km on electric power alone.
In the US market, the Chevrolet Bolt is also quite reasonably priced despite being in the electric vehicle segment, with a starting price of $29,995. Of course, this is a selling price that has been reduced thanks to tax incentives from the US government.

"When electric cars first appeared on the market in the 1990s, limited driving range was a major challenge for manufacturers. Carmakers had to solve this problem in order to commercialize electric cars and sell them to people who needed daily transportation.
“The Chevrolet Bolt has met this challenge with a 240-mile electric range at an affordable price, making it the first mass-produced electric vehicle to reach this milestone,” said Ron Cogan, editor-in-chief and publisher of GreenCarJournal.

It is known that Chevrolet Bolt has surpassed many strong competitors such as BMW 330e iPerformance, Chrysler Pacifica, Kia Optima and Toyota Prius Prime to win the title of "greenest" car of 2017. This year's voting committee also included famous TV host and car collector Jay Leno.
This is the second time Chevrolet has been named the greenest car of the year. Last year, Chevrolet also won the award for the second-generation Volt. In addition to the above award, the Chevrolet Bolt also won the 2017 Car of the Year title from MotorTrend magazine.
