The head of the Execution Bureau died from drinking alcohol containing cyanide.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department conducted a quick test on a sample of wine consumed by Asia Europe Investment, Construction, Trade and Real Estate Joint Stock Company (Asia Europe Company) at noon on April 20, 2020. It was determined that the wine contained cyanide.

Regarding the case of the Director of the Thanh Hoa City Judgment Enforcement Department and another victim who died on April 20, suspected of drinking toxic alcohol, on the afternoon of April 22, a source from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency conducted a quick test of the alcohol sample at the Asia-Europe Real Estate Company used for drinking at noon on April 20, and determined that the alcohol contained cyanide.

Accordingly, the couple Tran Xuan Minh (born in 1974) works in gold trading and processing and Le Thi Phuong (born in 1982) works as a real estate broker at A Au Company, living at house number 50, Quanh Trung alley, Ngoc Trao ward, Thanh Hoa city.

At about 5:15 p.m. on April 19, Mr. Minh brought 2 liters of wine from home to the Asia-Europe Company, poured the wine into a bottle, and then went home (before that, Mr. Minh often brought wine to the company for everyone to drink).

At about 12:20 p.m. on April 20, at the Asia-Europe Company, 6 people had lunch and drank alcohol together, including: Dang Pham Vien (born in 1967), Head of the Civil Judgment Enforcement Office of Thanh Hoa City; Nguyen Van Tho (born in 1981), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asia-Europe Company; Le Chien Thang (born in 1984), in Nam Ngan Ward, Thanh Hoa City; Le Thi Hoa (born in 1985), in Ba Dinh Ward, Thanh Hoa City; Truong Thi Xuyen (born in 1988) in Quang Thang Ward, Thanh Hoa City; Le Thi Phuong (born in 1982), Mr. Minh's wife.

After everyone sat down to pour wine to drink (wine brought by Mr. Minh the day before), Mr. Vien, Mr. Tho and Ms. Xuyen drank first and showed signs of poisoning. Immediately, these 3 people were taken to Thanh Hoa General Hospital for emergency treatment, but Mr. Vien died shortly after. Ms. Xuyen and Mr. Tho suffered mild poisoning and are now out of danger.

After the incident, Ms. Phuong (Mr. Minh's wife) immediately thought of her husband poisoning everyone and called her aunt and uncle (who were having lunch at Ms. Phuong's house with Mr. Minh). At that time, at Ms. Phuong's house at No. 50, Ngoc Trao Ward, Thanh Hoa City, there were 6 people sitting eating and drinking.

After learning about the poisoning incident at the Asia-Europe Company, Mr. Minh went down to the chemical storage area on the 3rd floor and drank a cup of pre-mixed toxic liquid. About 2 minutes later, his family discovered Mr. Minh lying down on the spot and was taken to the emergency room by everyone, but Mr. Minh died shortly thereafter.
