Indonesian Armed Forces Commander Denied Entry to the United States
Indonesian armed forces chief Gatotu Nurmantho was denied entry to the United States despite being invited by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, CNN reported.

The US Embassy in Jakarta released a report stating that General Nurmantho was invited by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Joseph Dunford, to a conference on countering extremism, to be held from October 23-24 in Washington.
A senior Indonesian military official and his wife were supposed to fly from Jakarta to Washington on Saturday, but US Customs and Border Protection said his delegation was not allowed to enter the United States, according to CNN.
The US Embassy in Jakarta has apologized to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi for not taking place and for causing inconvenience to senior military personnel.
