Ukrainian military commander says conflict could expand
(Baonghean.vn) - The border conflict in Ukraine could expand if Russia continues to increase weapons production while Kiev's army is deprived of advanced weapons from Western allies, Lieutenant General Sergey Naev told ABC News.
The head of Ukraine’s northern border defense, Naev, said over the weekend that the battle between Ukraine and Russia had become a “resource war,” noting that the cut in military aid from the West would have a serious impact on the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian army.
Mr. Naev claimed that Russia was acquiring resources with the help of North Korea and Iran. He also pointed out that “technology is very important,” warning that if Moscow produced more weapons and improved its technology with the help of its allies, hostilities could spread beyond eastern and southern Ukraine.

Iran has denied providing Russia with military drones for use in its military campaign in Ukraine. However, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian admitted that some drones had been delivered to Russia before the Ukraine conflict escalated in February last year.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also rejected Western accusations of arms transfers from North Korea to Russia, noting that “they always make accusations but there is no evidence.”
Since June, Ukraine has been on the offensive but has yet to make significant gains on the battlefield. In late October, Zelensky told the Times that “no one” believed in Kiev’s victory as much as he did, despite “war fatigue rolling in like a wave.”
