Consumer price index in December 2023 in Nghe An decreased by 0.25%
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Nghe An Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in December 2023 decreased by 0.25% compared to the previous month.
The complicated developments of African swine fever, spreading widely in many areas throughout the province, the sharp decrease in pork prices; the adjustment of gasoline prices three times on December 7, 2023, December 14, 2023 and December 21, 2023 are the main reasons for the decrease in CPI in December.
The consumer price index in December 2023 decreased by 0.25% compared to the previous month, the average CPI in the fourth quarter of 2023 increased by 5.03% compared to the average in the fourth quarter of 2022, up 5% compared to December of the previous year.

Among the 11 main groups of goods and services, 5 groups of goods had price indexes decreasing compared to the previous month: Transportation decreased by 1.78%; Culture, entertainment and tourism decreased by 0.12%; Clothing, hats and footwear decreased by 0.12%; Food and catering services decreased by 0.08%; Housing, electricity, water and construction materials decreased by 0.07%. There were 3 groups of goods that increased in price compared to the previous month: Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.25%; Other goods and services increased by 0.1%; Household equipment and appliances increased by 0.09%.
There are 3 groups of goods with indexes that neither increased nor decreased compared to the previous month, including: Education; Medicine and medical services; Post and telecommunications.

On average, in 2023, the consumer price index increased by 3.53% over the same period last year. There were 10 groups of goods that increased, including: Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 9.34%; Education increased by 8.94%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 5.24%; Other goods and services increased by 4.81%; Food and catering services increased by 3.7%; Apparel, hats and footwear increased by 2.13%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 1.85%; Household equipment and utensils increased by 1.65%; Medicines and medical services increased by 1.08%; Post and telecommunications increased by 0.32%. There was 1 group of goods that decreased compared to the same period, which was Transportation, down by 2.56%.
The gold price index in 2023 increased by 0.75% compared to the previous month, and by 11.02% compared to December 2022; the average price in the same period increased by 4.6%. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in the same direction as world gold prices.
The US dollar price index in 2023 decreased by 0.43% compared to the previous month, decreased by 3.17% compared to December 2022; the average decrease in the same period was 4.44%.
