Nghe An's consumer price index in May decreased by 0.03%
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Statistics Office has just announced the consumer price index (CPI) for May 2023. Accordingly, the consumer price index in May 2023 decreased by 0.03% compared to the previous month, up 1.92% over the same period last year.
Trade and service activities in the area in May and the first 5 months of 2023 were vibrant. Many stimulus, connection, and trade promotion programs were implemented to boost production, helping manufacturers connect with distribution systems and domestic and foreign consumers.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in May 2023 is estimated at VND 9,036.2 billion, up 2.18% over the previous month and 3.14% over the same period last year. In the first 5 months of 2023, total retail sales of goods and consumer services are estimated at VND 45,598.1 billion, up 11.83% over the same period in 2022.

According to the Nghe An Statistics Office, among the 11 main groups of goods and services, 8 groups of goods had price indexes increasing compared to the previous month: Other goods and services increased by 0.16%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.08%; Household equipment and appliances increased by 0.07%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.3%; Housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 1.33%; Medicines and medical services increased by 0.07%; Post and telecommunications increased by 0.29%; Food and catering services increased by 0.28%.
There are 2 groups of goods that decreased in price compared to the previous month, including: Clothing, hats, and footwear decreased by 0.06%; Transportation decreased by 2.95%.
There is one group that neither increased nor decreased compared to last month, which is Education.
On average, in the first 5 months of 2023, the consumer price index increased by 2.86% over the same period last year. There were 10 groups of goods that increased, including: Beverages and tobacco increased by 6.29%; Other goods and services increased by 3.07%; Food and catering services increased by 4.76%; Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 2.13%; Apparel, hats and footwear increased by 3.31%; Household equipment and utensils increased by 2.27%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 1.88%; Education increased by 13.98%; Medicines and medical services increased by 0.19%; Post and telecommunications increased by 0.03%. There was 1 group of goods that decreased compared to the same period, which was Transportation, down by 4.08%.
